Karnali: A thorough investigation is currently underway regarding a tragic incident in which four members of a single family were discovered dead in Chhayanath Rara municipality-6, Mandu village.

According to Mugu Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Birendra Thapa, the incident is believed to have occurred on Wednesday night. Acting on information provided by locals, the police discovered the lifeless bodies of 28-year-old mother Shreedevi Bohora, her 11-year-old son Manoj, eight-year-old daughter Apsara, and eight-month-old son Rahar Bohora on October 27, two days after the reported incident.

The bodies were transported to Mugu Hospital for post-mortem on Saturday, immediately after the return of Deepak Bohora, the husband of the deceased Shreedevi, who had been working in Qatar.

Deepak Bohora has refrained from receiving the bodies until the culprits responsible for the deaths of his wife and children are identified.

Following the incident, a special investigation team from the District Police Office in Mugu, led by DSP Birendra Thapa, has been conducting an extensive on-site investigation. Additionally, a specialized investigation bureau team, along with a trained dog from the Karnali Province Police Office in Surkhet, is intensifying their efforts, suspecting that this may not be a natural death incident but rather a case of mass murder.

Furthermore, a special investigation team has also arrived at the incident site in Mugu to support the ongoing investigation. The spokesperson for the Province Police Office, SSP Gopal Chandra Bhattarai, confirmed that the Chief of the Karnali Province Police Office in Surkhet, Deputy Inspector General of Police Bhim Prasad Dhakal, is present at the scene to bolster the investigation.

"Investigation into the incident has been intensified. All possible measures are being implemented to identify those responsible for the incident. We are determined to reach the truth and establish the identity of the culprits," shared SSP Gopal Chandra Bhattarai.

However, despite their efforts, the police have not yet found concrete evidence to establish the truth behind the incident.
